Market Update: Sensex Hits Record High at 67,089, Nifty 50 Soars to 19,829; NTPC, IndusInd Bank, Infosys Lead Gainers

Domestic indices started the early session on Wednesday with increases, helped by excellent quarterly results for June and the general mood throughout the world. The benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index began at 19,803.55, up 54.30 points or 0.27 percent, while the benchmark BSE Sensex opened at 67,008.59, up 213.45 points or 0.32 percent.

The Sensex reached a record high of 67,088.73 during the early session, while the Nifty 50 reached a new high of 19,828.90.
By 9:30 am, the Sensex was up 275.15 points, or 0.41 percent, and the Nifty 50 was up 72.30 points, or 0.37 percent, at 19,821.55 and 67,070.29, respectively.

All broad market indices were trading in the green in the early going, with the Nifty Smallcap 250 increasing by 0.52%, the Nifty Midcap 250 rising by 0.50%, the Nifty Smallcap 100 rising by 0.48%, and the Nifty Smallcap 50 rising by 0.37%.

All sectors were trading in the green, with Nifty IT up 0.67 percent, Nifty Private Bank up 0.56 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables up 0.52 percent, and Nifty Media up 0.35 percent, with the exception of the Pharma and Healthcare indices.
Following the disclosure of their consolidated financials showed a 30 percent increase in net profit to 2,124.50 crore for the June quarter, IndusInd Bank’s stock increased by about 3 percent.

During the opening session, the top gainers included Grasim, JSW Steel, Divis Labs, Adani Enterprises, and Adani Ports in addition to NTPC, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Apollo Hospitals, Vipro, Bpcl, Tech Mahindra, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The top losers at this period included Maruti Suzuki, SBI Life, Ashok Leyland, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, Hindalco, Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, M&M, and Bajaj Finserv.
