Clashes between Terrorists and Security Forces in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir: An Overview

Terrorists and security personnel engaged in combat on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, according to the Indian Army. This incident happened while a search was being conducted.

During the night of July 16 and 17, security personnel came across two terrorists and stopped a significant attempt to cross the Line of Control into the Krishna Ghati area of Poonch.

The conflict started when Indian Army personnel, Jammu Special Operations Group (SOG), and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in the Surankot tehsil’s Sindraha and Maidana areas. The location of the terrorists’ hiding place was mentioned.

According to a tweet from the White Knight Corps, Jammu, based on information from Indianexpress.com, “Based on specific intelligence inputs, a cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian Army, SOG, and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel near the general area of Sindraha and Maidana in Surankot tehsil of Poonch.”

It was mentioned that a ferocious gunfight ensued once contact was made with the terrorists who were hiding.
